About

We started out in 2009 as the Ark City Free Will Baptist Church. That's a needlessly long name and it didn't reflect at all who we were and what we are about. The transition is a story better told in person but here is the short version: like everyone else, we navigated the pandemic (kept having church services and served in our community) and came out the other side desiring to be a stronger ministry. For us that included a vision of Biblical unity (the statement of faith page clarifies what we believe) and we ended up becoming a nondenominational ministry. That process had its ups and downs, still does, and today we are a small ministry seeking to serve our Lord and savior Jesus Christ by serving our community and are constantly seeking ways to do that. Our vision for the future is to become at least a dual lingual but preferably a multilingual ministry that has people from various ethnic and language groups coming together to worship and serve our great God Yahweh. We are especially pleased to be the host sight for Immigrant Hope Ark City ( www.immigranthopearkcity.org/).
Additionally we help with supplemental food for children with food insecurities at one of our local elementary schools and hope to expand that assistance to other schools in the future. It is a future goal of ours to start a food pantry to serve the local school district. There is a food program in place that works through the school district but we believe that local churches should be meeting local needs and not outsourcing our responsibilities. We, along with many in our community, support the student pantry at Cowley County Community College cowley.edu/life-at-cowley/campus-support/student-pantry/index.html
